Cops await report on pills seized from Ridz Okumura's home

SUBANG JAYA: Police are awaiting a report on six types of pills seized from the residence of entrepreneur and social media influencer Abd Ridzuan Abdul Mutalib, better known as Ridz Okumura, as part of the investigation into the death of his wife, Akiko Okumura.

SUBANG JAYA: Police are awaiting a report on six types of pills seized from the residence of entrepreneur and social media influencer Abd Ridzuan Abdul Mutalib, better known as Ridz Okumura, as part of the investigation into the death of his wife, Akiko Okumura.Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the report on the medication is still under investigation.When asked whether the victim had previously received any medical treatment, Hussein said the matter was also still under investigation.

"This case is still under investigation and has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR)," he said when contacted by Harian Metro.Previously, police seized six types of pills believed to be from Japan to assist in the investigation into the death of the wife of the entrepreneur and social media influencer.Hussein said the case remains classified as SDR, but investigations are ongoing from multiple angles.



He said the investigation includes examining whether the victim had any history of depression or health issues that required medication."There were several pills seized from the house (the scene) that are believed to have originated from Japan (Akiko's home country)," he said.On March 4, police confirmed that the Japanese woman found dead after falling from the fourth floor of a condominium in SS16, Subang Jaya, was the wife of Ridz Okumura.

The case was classified as SDR as no criminal elements have been found so far, but police will conduct a thorough investigation, including from a criminology perspective.© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
