We are less than a week away from the first day of fall and today's cool temperatures are already giving us a preview of the crisp autumn air. Another cool day is on tap for the Southland with highs in the 70s away from the coasts, 80s for the deserts. The beaches will see highs in the mid 60s to low 70s.

There's also a chance of showers this morning from the coasts to the mountains. The chances are greater in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountains. Forecasters say the chances of light showers will die down by the early afternoon but come Wednesday, we can expect another showery morning.

We have a good chance of mostly light rain Monday, mainly in the morning and from the coast to the mountains. Local rainfall could exceed 1/2" in the San Bernardino County Mountains but mostly be around 1/10" farther south. Local rainfall rates could exceed 1/10" per hour.
