Cornes, who enjoyed a glittering career with Port Adelaide making 300 appearances for Power, appeared to be walking past The Wing hospitality lounge at the Adelaide Oval following the Crows' victory against North Melbourne on Sunday afternoon. Adelaide are now 3-0 at the start of the 2025 season and continued their good form this weekend with a 36-point victory against the Kangaroos in South Australia .
Cornes, who had been working the match, was stopped by a footy fan in the tunnels of the Adelaide Oval. The fan had appeared to ask the 42-year-old for a picture, which the Channel 7 pundit agreed to. As they posed for the snap, the fan was heard saying: '[You're not] going to say go Crows are ya?' Cornes smiled before stating: 'Good on ya,' and walked over to another fan to pose for a picture.

'Oi, Cornsey, what do you reckon about the crows winning, mate?' the fan shouted at him. The Port Adelaide Hall of Fame inductee turned back and subsequently said: 'I don't want you to be a f***wit mate - I'm happy to have a photo with you.
' As the Port great walked away the fan replied: 'I get that but f***ing hell you're a f***wit yourself...
' Many have risen to the defence of the Channel 7 pundit, with former Australian hockey star Georgie Parker writing on X: 'Nah, Kane is in the right here, fellas.' 'Don’t think Kane is in the wrong here at all,' reporter Todd Scoullar added. 'Anyone who thinks Kane is in the wrong here is a nut job,' another X user added.
Many fans also commented to write that Cornes 'handled the situation really well.' The Port Adelaide Hall of Famer then walked away from the fan, who replied by also calling him a 'f***wit' Multiple social media users rose to Cornes' defence on X, with former Australia hockey star Georgie Parker writing: 'Nah, Kane is in the right here fellas.' 'In Kane Cornes' corner here 100 per centm' one wrote.
'Well handled by Kane Cornes...
No issue here,' another said. 'Kane is absolutely right here.' Cornes, meanwhile, was back on camera for Monday night's edition of The Agenda Setters.
During the show, the 42-year-old discussed several issues, including Melbourne's poor start to the 2025 season. The Demons are winless in their opening three matches and Cornes believes that Simon Goodwin has six weeks to resolve the issues in their game. It comes the Demons had been smashed by North Melbourne and Gold Coast, losing by 59 points to the Roos first before going down by 58 points against the Suns.
'That was their strength, their scores from stoppage and their combative nature,' Cornes said, speaking on Melbourne's attributes. 'They've lost that and the old issues are still there, they have reviewed the game style in the off-season, and they said it needs to be better. "I think Simon Goodwin's probably got six weeks to fix this.

..' Cornes was pressed on what would happen to Goodwin, before adding: 'Or else he's in trouble.
' He added: 'If you're going to lose by 10 plus goals two weeks in a row to two sides who haven't played finals in the previous year, and be smashed in what was your strength - there needs to be some advancements in their game style in the next six weeks or there will be trouble.'
