PESHAWAR - A three-day consultative workshop on countering violent extremism was organized under the auspices of the Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

PESHAWAR - A three-day consultative workshop on countering violent extremism was organized under the auspices of the Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The workshop brought together national and international experts, researchers, and academics from universities across the province and the country who are actively working on the issue of violent extremism. Distinguished participants included Kamran Afridi, Secretary of Higher Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Daud Khan, Secretary of Public Health Engineering, KP; Dr Ayaz, Chief Coordination Officer of the Centre of Excellence; Dr Qasim, Director General of the Centre; Dr Irfan, CVE Manager; as well as prominent experts and scholars from diverse backgrounds.

Addressing the workshop, Secretary Higher Education Kamran Afridi highlighted that the department is developing a comprehensive ten-year roadmap to guide youth in the right direction. He emphasized that the Centre of Excellence is playing a pivotal role by connecting colleges and universities across the province to instill constructive thinking among the younger generation. KP CS reviews MTIs’ performance, healthcare services He further added that performance indicators are being introduced for institutions operating under the Higher Education Department to measure their progress and ensure alignment with broader developmental goals.



Secretary of Public Health Engineering, Daud Khan, remarked that the eradication of extremism is not the responsibility of a single institution, but rather a collective national cause. He stressed the need for multi-dimensional planning, protection of the rights of all segments of society, and the creation of platforms where diverse voices can unite to develop long-lasting and effective solutions.
