The multi-million-pound beachfront site will be the largest in the brand's portfolio, creating more than 150 jobs. The venue will join Rockwater's existing locations in Branksome and Hove. Work initially faced delays due to the need for redesigns to protect the sand dune ecosystem.
However, construction is now underway again after Rockwater's three sites were combined into a single business entity. Luke Davis, founder of Rockwater, said: "We're thrilled to finally be moving forward with Sandbanks.
"While we've enjoyed welcoming guests to our temporary beachside shacks in the meantime, we can't wait to unveil the full Rockwater experience this summer. "We know our neighbours are keen for construction to be completed as fast as possible, so we are doing all we can to minimise disruption and open this beautiful new venue swiftly." The venue will be positioned on the Sandbanks peninsula, boasting panoramic views across the Jurassic Coast.
It will be a two-floor site with an outdoor terrace, offering a year-round hub for dining, socialising, wellness activities and entertainment. The location will feature two dining concepts, with an upstairs fine-dining experience providing Mayfair-quality cuisine in a relaxed beachside setting. A British-style open flame cookery area will serve large cuts of fresh fish and meat.
The menu will be crafted by consultant chef James Golding, who joined Rockwater earlier this year. A cocktail bar with a retractable roof will also be part of the new site, offering sea views. The Rockwater Sandbanks project is part of the brand's ongoing expansion, with the aim to create community-centric spaces across the UK.
The new venue will be the third Rockwater site after the brand's successful establishments in Branksome and Hove. The company has expressed its commitment to completing construction swiftly to minimise disruption to the Sandbanks area..
