Cong stages protest over school fee hike in Prayagraj

Prayagraj: Congress functionaries on Friday staged a protest against the arbitrary fee hike in private schools in city and the compulsion to buy books and uniforms from specific shops. Congressmen, under the leadership of City Congress President Fujal Hashmi and Yamunapar Congress District President Ashok Patel marched from Laxmi Talkies, Katra crossing towards district collectorate and demonstrated on Collectorate campus. They also handed over memorandum addressed to the governor to district authorities.

Party spokesman Haseeb Ahmed told TOI that Congress warned of an indefinite agitation if district administration fails to take corrective action in this regard. Hashmi said: "The school administrations are ignoring instructions of the govt, and parents are being pressured to buy dress and books-stationery from school or a specific shop."tnn.
