Kenosha County’s Division of Children and Family Services will have a new leader following the retirement of its director. Condos Rogers County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced the appointment of Pamela Condos to succeed former division Director Ron Rogers, who retired March 31. Condos, who is serving as interim director, will be vetted in committee before her appointment goes before the County Board for confirmation later this month.

Previously the division manager, serving directly under Rogers, she was hired as a social worker with the county in 2012. She had worked for 17 years at Community Impact Programs, a nonprofit provider of foster care, youth justice and child welfare services. She is certified by the state as a licensed social worker.

“Pamela comes to her new position with a strong skillset and a passion for advocating for the well-being of children and building strong families,” Kerkman said. “I am confident she will continue to build upon the solid foundation that Ron Rogers laid during his many years of service to the county.” Condos earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master’s degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University.

“I am excited about the opportunities, challenges, and collaborations that lie ahead,” Condos said. “I’m fortunate to work with a dedicated group of people with a common goal to help others thrive and fulfill our mission to promote the safety and well-being of the child, family, and community by providing quality services.” Kenosha County Human Services Director John Jansen said Condos has dedicated her career to helping youth and families, working her way through the county ranks as a social worker, supervisor, program manager and now director.

“Pamela has the skills and the leadership experience to continue leading the division in a forward-facing manner,” Jansen said. “I know she looks forward to continuing to collaborate with our community partners as we work to address the needs of youth and families in the community.” Jansen praised Rogers, who was hired by the county in 2000 and later promoted from social work supervisor to division director in 2008.

“Ron was viewed throughout the state as a leader in children and family services, child welfare, and youth justice,” Jansen said. “He was highly respected and a dedicated advocate who built a collaborative network to help meet the needs of our residents.” From left, Jenney Cantrell, a teacher at Bradford, Ariana Ervin, 15, Genesis Goodman, 14, and Chloe Valadez, 16, empty a garbage can as they work for the Keep Kenosha Beautiful program in uptown on Thursday.
