FAIRFIELD — The Solano Community Foundation announced on Tuesday $113,500 in scholarship funding for local students. "SCF is not just offering financial support – it's championing educational opportunity across Solano County," the foundation said in a statement. Most of the scholarships are from Vacaville-based endowments, but the foundation is looking to expand its scholarship opportunities across the county.
"Our goal is simple," Leslie Janik, chief executive officer of the foundation, said in the statement. "Every student – regardless of their ZIP code – should have the chance to pursue higher education without financial barriers." SCF is taking a comprehensive approach to address educational funding gaps: • Community-driven research: Leveraging data and community voices to identify critical educational needs.
• Strategic partnerships: Collaborating with school districts, community organizations and donors to create new scholarship opportunities. • Long-term sustainability: Building permanent endowment funds to ensure generational access to educational support. "SCF is calling on the entire Solano community – residents, businesses, philanthropists, and alumni – to help expand scholarship opportunities.
By investing in students, we invest directly in the future of Solano County," the statement said. Apply for scholarships at https://bit.ly/scf-scholarship-op .
