KARACHI - Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, has expressed strong commitment to ensuring the success of the upcoming anti-polio campaign beginning on April 21 in the city. He stated that this campaign will be a resounding success. He made these remarks while addressing a detailed meeting at his office, attended by Secretary Health Rehan Baloch, District Health Officers (DHOs) from all Karachi districts, and other senior officials.
Deputy Commissioners of all Karachi districts also joined the session via video link. Commissioner Naqvi emphasised that it is both a national and religious duty to provide healthcare services to the public. He assured that the Karachi administration will extend all possible cooperation to the Health Department and provide any necessary support.
He pointed out specific areas requiring focused attention, including Ittehad Town, Godhra Colony, Haji Murid Goth, Islam Town, and Bhutta Village, where the situation reportedly remains concerning. During the meeting, Secretary Health Rehan Baloch provided a comprehensive briefing on the campaign, while EOC Coordinator Irshad Ali Sodhar and Saudi Yaqoob Khosa also shared their insights and recommendations.
