Having served on the Strasburg Town Council since 2018, I have enjoyed working alongside Brandy Hawkins Boies for the past four years. During this time, I’ve witnessed firsthand the exceptional leadership she has brought to the role of mayor. Therefore, I enthusiastically support her re-election campaign for Mayor of Strasburg.

Mayor Boies came into office with extensive leadership experience from her career at the community college and quickly adapted to the unique demands of being a mayor. Early in her term, she held community forums to engage with citizens on key issues like youth support and traffic safety. These forums set the tone for her commitment to transparency, dialogue and addressing community concerns.

Mayor Boies has grown her leadership credentials by graduating from the Leadership Shenandoah County program and participating in the Virginia Municipal League Mayors Institute, where she has exchanged ideas with mayors across the state. Additionally, her collaboration with local, regional and state leaders has been instrumental in advancing projects that benefit Strasburg and the surrounding area, including the Shenandoah Rail Trail and the investment proposal for the Historic Hotel Strasburg. Strasburg’s recent accomplishments resulted from ongoing and collaborative efforts, and Mayor Boies’ leadership has been vital in moving these initiatives forward.

Together, we have made significant strides in economic development at the Northern Shenandoah County Business Park. Mayor Boies brought business owners, property owners, and local representatives together to meet and discuss the challenges and goals of the business park. Since that meeting, the council has worked to update and streamline building requirements, acquired additional right-of-way and property to complete the extension of Borden Mowery Drive, and expanded the business park by over 100 acres.

This year, the town proudly welcomed Logan’s Sausage Company to the business park. Improvements to Strasburg's infrastructure were also made under Mayor Boies’ leadership. Understanding the police department’s urgent need for additional space, she led the council in their decision to acquire the former BB&T bank building at 115 W.

King St. Building renovations are anticipated to be completed by early 2026. Additionally, the mayor and council prioritized the installation of new water meters, a long-delayed project due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The updated meter technology allows for easier data collection, and citizens can monitor their real-time water usage online. Finally, Mayor Boies has been a champion of parks and recreation. She helped secure funding for the Sensory Music Garden and has supported playground updates, the Tribute to Trent Skatepark, the Strasburg River Walk extension, and the Shenandoah Rail Trail.

Her support of these projects demonstrates her commitment to enhancing citizens' well-being and quality of life now and into the future. Mayor Boies has proven her commitment to the people of Strasburg, and her leadership has delivered tangible results. I fully support her re-election as Mayor of Strasburg and look forward to seeing her continue to build on the progress we have made together.
