It's hoped they'll recover in time for play to go ahead on Wednesday and Thursday. There's also been talk about adding Friday to the match to replace the full day's play that's been lost. ACT Comets coach Jono Dean's team has been decimated by illness.

Picture by Keegan Carroll It's a rough start to the summer for the Comets as, adding insult to illness, they were on the backfoot after the first day's play as well. Tasmania were 0-69 after 19 overs, having bowled out the Comets for just 199. Scott Murn was the ACT's top scorer with 37, as all-but-two of the Comets XI got to double figures - but none of them could go on with their start.

Cricket ACT took to social media to announce play had been abandoned for the day. But it's still unclear exactly what's befallen their players. "Please be advised that the upcoming Toyota 2nd XI match has been postponed until further notice due to unexpected circumstances," Cricket ACT posted.
