ANGELES CITY — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) held an Automated Counting Machine (ACM) Roadshow in the city on Tuesday, December 17. The event, led by City Election Officer Charmaine Casquejo, aims to promote awareness and confidence in the country’s automated electoral system ahead of the 2025 National and Local Elections. The agency said it focuses on fostering transparency, voter education, and collaboration.

Casquejo said the roadshow seeks to address public concerns regarding the automated voting system, such as glitches and tampering. She said these issues raised apprehensions about the credibility of election results. Casquejo stressed the importance of addressing technological gaps to ensure that all voters, regardless of location or socioeconomic status, can participate in the electoral process.

She cited challenges such as the digital division, particularly in rural and marginalized areas. The election officer reiterated that credible elections require collaboration among various sectors, including the government, private businesses, and the media. She described the roadshow as an opportunity to strengthen public confidence and lay the groundwork for fair and transparent elections in 2025.
