A PUB in Colwyn Bay remains on the market, despite having closed almost three years ago. The Pavilion, at Abergele Road, and did not cite a specific reason at the time. The owners said they had to the "best of their ability tried to create something special".
The Pavilion then went on the market for £500,000 with estate agent Fleurets in November that year. In April last year, tragedy almost struck for the closed establishment after . The fire caused heat and smoke damage to a room, a retail area, and the pub area.
Yet the pub still remains on the market, no longer set a price as its listing states "Offers invited". The listing said a prospective buyer may see an "opportunity to relaunch a bar and nightclub" in the area. Fleurets said: "The property comprises a substantial late 19th Century building of stone and brick construction.
"A prospective purchaser may view this as an opportunity to relaunch the Pavilion as a wet let bar and nightclub. "Previously it operated as a mixture of traditional bar, together with a live music and nightclub venue within the rear space. In addition, there was a first-floor function room.
"Alternatively, consideration may be given to redeveloping the buildings for an alternative use, such as commercial or residential, subject to appropriate planning consents being obtained.".
