Colorado's Shilo Sanders Spars with Red Raiders Fans

Things got heated at Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday between the Texas Tech Red Raiders fans and the officiating crew.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Colorado Buffaloes met in a Big 12 showdown in Lubbock on Saturday. Separate from the final score of 41-27, the crowd inside Jones AT&T Stadium was not pleased. Dylan Widger-Imagn Images The home fans were irate most of the game at missed calls that helped the Buffaloes cause.

Things escalated in the third quarter when two plays that could've resulted in late hit penalties on the Buffs went unpenalized. Fans decided to take the matter into their own hands and decided it was a good idea to make their displeasure known by throwing water bottles and trash onto the field, imitating Texas Longhorns fans. Debris and water bottles were landing near the Colorado sideline and bench area, prompting Red Raiders coach Joey McGuire to take to the stadium P.



A. system to ask fans to stop. Buffs safety Shilo Sanders, son of coach Deion Sanders, took exception and "returned" one of the water bottles to the seating area as he was being restrained by Buffs staffer and Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp.

The public address announcer also made the announcement that if fans continued throwing things onto the field, entire sections of the stadium would be ejected.
