The Colorado State Fair is calling all homebrewers, craft brewers and hobby winemakers to participate in the fair’s Beer and Wine Competition.This year, there will be three categories for the competition: homebrew, craft beer and hobby wine.Entries for hobby wine are being accepted until Friday, April 25.
Beer entries will be accepted from Monday, April 7 until Friday, May 2.Wine judging is Saturday, May 3. Beer judging for the homebrewers category is Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 for craft brewers.
The beer competitions will be sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and the Beer Judge Certification Program.The homebrewers category will only take 75 entrants, with each participant allowed to submit up to four entries. The craft brewers category will only take 75 entrants, with only eight entries per brewer allowed.
The hobby wine category will take 60 entrants.There will be 41 classes for winemakers to enter such as whites, reds, roses, ports, sherries, fruit wines, sparkling wines and others.Results for the hobby wine competition are scheduled to be posted Tuesday, May 27, to coloradostatefair.
