Arturo and Theresa Luna, husband and wife owners of New Day Café, 5901 Delmonico Drive, have opened a second Colorado Springs location of the popular breakfast and lunch eatery. The Lunas are not new to the restaurant industry. They had New Day Cafés in Las Vegas before they moved to Colorado Springs 12 years ago.

Their newest location is at 13275 Voyager Parkway on the city’s far north side. “My parents live here, and we wanted to be near them,” Theresa said. “At one point we had eight locations open including a place in Aurora.

But we have sold all of them except for the two we have here.” The restaurant in the Rockrimmon area has proven to be their most successful. The family-owned eatery fills up with customers daily.

It’s not unusual to see people waiting for tables, especially on weekends. “Many of our customers are regulars,” Theresa said. “We have some who even come from Castle Rock.

Having this new location will be closer for those people to get to.” The same menu is offered at the new spot, including the bestselling New Day cheesecake/crepes combo ($14.99).

It’s a hearty meal with two eggs any style, choice of two bacon strips, two sausage links or one sausage patty and choice of one strawberry cheesecake French toast, two strawberry crepes, two blueberry crepes or two banana crepes. Add a choice of hash browns, home fries or grits for $1.99.

The new location has a private room for meetings or parties. And, there’s ample free parking. The hours are 7 a.
