A spring snowstorm that moved into Colorado on Friday dropped more than a foot of snow in parts of the state's high country, while totals varied widely in lower elevations.

Black Forest and Peterson Space Force Base each saw 3 inches. Further south, Pueblo recorded 6.9 inches.



A Winter Storm Warning remained in effect through 4 p.m. Saturday for parts of Fremont County, including Buena Vista, Salida, Westcliffe, and Penrose.

While some areas in the Denver metro received 6 or more inches—including 10 inches in Golden—much of the area recorded between 2 and 4 inches. Boulder reported 3 inches, Aurora saw 2 inches, and just 0.06 inches fell at Denver International Airport, where hundreds of flights were delayed on Friday.

In the high country, Conifer and Loveland Pass saw the highest totals, with 17 and 16.8 inches, respectively. Eldora recorded 12 inches, Breckenridge saw 12.

Salida and Westcliffe were also hit hard, each receiving 14 inches. A Winter Storm Warning was also in effect for parts of the southwest, including the San Juan, Sangre de Cristo, and Wet mountains. Flight delays and weekend outlook The storm was expected to clear out of the Front Range by Saturday and usher in a warmer Easter Sunday.

As of Saturday afternoon, Denver International Airport reported 162 flight delays and two cancellations. The Colorado Springs Airport had 14 delays and two cancellations. 24-hour snow totals across Colorado from the National Weather Service: Conifer – 17 inches Loveland Pass – 16.
