
WILLIAMSBURG — Three players scored in double figures for Whitley County as the Colonels cruised to an easy 95-26 win over Red Bird on Monday. Whitley County (17-8) built a 30-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in the win. The Colonels’ lead grew to 58-12 at halftime and 78-16 entering the fourth quarter.
“I love how unselfish our guys are and our togetherness,” Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. “It was great to see some of our guys who don’t get a lot of minutes get time and do a great job.” Bryson Mahan led Whitley County with 18 points while Tucker Hale and Henry Bowling scored 15 points apiece.
Dawson Whitehead scored 13 points for the Cardinals (0-20) while Aston Lewis finished with nine points..
