ESPN and SEC Network host Laura Rutledge headed to Athens , Georgia over the weekend to provide coverage for the rivalry showdown between Georgia and Tennessee. It was a highly-anticipated clash between two of the top teams in the nation, which is why ESPN decided to send its A-team for the Saturday game. On Sunday, Rutledge took to Instagram to share some of her favorite moments from what appeared to be a memorable time in Georgia.
This included, among other things, a sideline interview with Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart following their 31-17 victory, as well as taping a live show with her "SEC Nation" co-hosts. "A weekend in Athens š¶" Rutledge captioned her post. View the original article to see embedded media.
The 36-year-old reporter's post turned heads, amassing more than 7,000 likes as of writing, as well as a myriad of comments from the fans. One comment that stood out, however, came from her better half, Josh Rutledge. As it turns out, the former Boston Red Sox infielder had one thing on his mind after seeing his wife's post.
"Iām expecting a Mamaās Boy biscuit brought home š" he wrote. The classic Georgia Peach French Toast is a staple dish from the restaurant, but it is clear that Josh Rutledge had his eye on the Buttermilk Biscuits.
While Laura Rutledge did not respond to her husband's demand, the former beauty queen turned ESPN anchor did like his comment, so that acknowledgment likely means that Josh Rutledge will have his wish granted. Josh and Laura Rutledge have been married since 2013. They have two kids together -- five-year-old daughter Reese, and one-year-old baby boy Jack.
