College basketball: Ridgewater runs past Central Lakes, 113-104

Warriors get 29 from Tyrese Mayo and 25 from DeAndre Holloway in home win. Also Friday, CLC women beat Ridgewater.

WILLMAR — The Ridgewater men’s basketball team continued its high-scoring ways with a 113-104 victory over Central Lakes College on Friday night. Ridgewater is 4-1 and has scored at least 95 points in all five games, scoring in triple figures in three of its four victories. The Warriors also beat the Gustavus Adolphus JV 95-86 and lost to the Concordia-Moorhead JV 111-99.

Friday, the Warriors got 29 points and two steals from Tyrese Mayo and 25 points, 15 rebounds and two blocked shots from DeAndre Holloway. Mayo is a 5-foot-11 freshman guard from Winter Haven, Florida. Holloway is a 6-7 freshman forward from Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.



Keagan Shrider, a 6-0 sophomore guard from Cambridge-Isanti, added 15 points for the Warriors. Ridgewater travels to Wahpeton, North Dakota to play North Dakota State College of Science at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday. Men Ridgewater 113, Central Lakes 104 Women Central Lakes 53, Ridgewater 46 Central Lakes held Ridgewater to 24.6% shooting in its victory at Willmar.

Ridgewater made 17 of 69 field goals. The Warriors were 5-for-34 from 3-point range, 14.7%.

Cheney Phillipp, a 6-foot-3 sophomore from Holdingford, had 16 points to lead the Raiders. Neveah Rahm had 15 points and nine rebounds, Julia Hines had 12 points and Kaydence Bertram added 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors, who used six players. Rahm is a 6-0 freshman from Fairmont.

Hines is a 6-2 freshman from Randolph. Bertram is a 5-10 freshman from Melrose. Ridgewater faces North Dakota State College of Science at 5:30 p.
