Collectors, politicians should scale up in performance: Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that performance was the only parameter to be considered for encouragement and elevation in positions. Addressing the collectors and heads of various departments at the Collectors Conference held in Amaravati, he said that those not rising to the occasion would be left behind.

At the two-day Conference that concluded on Thursday, he said that their performance would be assessed every six months, basing on public opinion about the government. He said that being elected by the people, they had the responsibility to fulfil their expectations. He urged the collectors to involved the MLAs too in the public works.



But, he said that they need not yield to pressure from them, and can gently deny to violate the rules. "You should act as per your discretion," he told the government officials. "We are moving ahead towards development from destruction and in this process, your role is very crucial.

You should respond fast to people's grievances and there should be a human angle to it." Naidu said that reception centres would be set up at every collectorate, which would help in identifying the problems and getting close to the people. The CM directed the officials to give priority to agriculture and ensure that even small farmers do not face issues.

Stating that the NREGS was a game changer, the CM said that the more they can use the labour component, the more material component would come into the picture. In the last two days, the CM spent as many as 22 hours with the collectors and other officials at the Conference, which highlights his dedication towards work and the people..
