Coleen Nolan says she is happy being single and enjoys spending time with her animals because “they don’t expect anything.” The Loose Women star, who recently turned 60, has been married twice and last year split from her partner of three years Michael Jones. But she admitted: “I haven’t found love again, but then, right now, I’ve not been looking for it.
I’m kind of enjoying my singledom. And the goats. The goats are good and the horses and the animals, they don’t expect anything.
” Coleen, who lives on a farm in Staffordshire, began dating supermarket logistics worker Michael in 2021 after meeting on Tinder, with the pair going on to have an on-off relationship in which they broke up and got back together three times. But in November she revealed they had decided to part ways for good and remain friends. Now Coleen says she is not planning to use dating apps again, despite having had fun with them in the past.
Speaking on Loose Women: The Podcast she said: “I do think the best ways are the organic ways. And its normally through friends or colleagues, or they introduce you to someone. “Obviously in the past I’ve used dating apps and it’s been brilliant, really good, because who goes out now, especially when you get to a certain age.
I’m not going to go to nightclubs and I’m not a big drinker, so I’m not going to go and stand in a bar somewhere. But I found dating apps great. And you can talk for ages first and you can judge it from then if you want to go and meet them.
“But I can’t be bothered doing that again. Just those moments of going to meet a total stranger.” Coleen’s first marriage was to EastEnders star Shane Richie, 61.
The couple tied the knot in 1990 and had sons Shane, 36 and Jake, 32, together before separating in 1997 and divorcing two years later. She split from second husband, musician Ray Fensome, 67, in 2017 after 11 years of marriage. They share daughter Ciara, 24.
Coleen has remained friends with both her exes as well as with Michael, 60. Away from Loose Women, she says her focus is on her new six acre house which has helped her to realise her dream of owning a farm. She spends three hours a day mucking out and feeding the animals.
Coleen found fame in the 1970s alongside sisters Maureen, 71, Anne, 74, Denise, 72, and the late Bernie and Linda, as members of pop group The Nolans. With hits including I’m in the Mood for Dancing, they were one of the world’s biggest girl groups with worldwide sales of more than 30 million records. Away from music, she co-presented This Morning from 2001-2002 and since 2000 has been a regular panellist on the ITV lunchtime talk show Loose Women.
In 2017 she won Celebrity Big Brother..
