Congrats to former Gonzaga walk-on, Colby Brooks! Fans will get a chance to see the former Zag play for Steve Lavin’s squad when San Diego comes to Spokane on January 8th. I predicted that a West Coast Conference program would come calling for Brooks when he put his name in the transfer portal back in April. The 6’7 forward will look to earn a scholarship opportunity with the Toreros while trying to crack a part into the rotation.
San Diego lost Deuce Turner, Wayne McKinney III, PJ Hayes and Kevin Patton who were all serious contributors from last season. While at Gonzaga, Brooks appeared in only 22 games from 2022-2024 while averaging 1.6 PPG and 1.
1 RPG in 2.9 MPG. He was in Spokane with the Zags since 2020.
Brooks is a Class of 2024 Gonzaga gradate with a degree in communication studies. The next goal is to earn a master’s degree at the University of San Diego while maintaining two years of college eligibility. Arden Cravalho is a Gonzaga University graduate from the Bay Area.
