With so many coffee machines on the market, with them all at different price points, it can be hard to know which one to go for. I have always been a huge fan of coffee, but it is only in recent years that I have invested time in testing out different coffee machines. I recently tried and tested Tassimo’s My Way Machine having used this brand of coffee machine for over seven years.
It’s Tassimo’s most advanced machine and can help get those chilly winter days off to a good start as the perfect cup of tea, hot chocolate or coffee takes under two minutes to make. What’s more, Tassimo’s machines boast unique Intellibrew technology, which automatically adjusts intensity and drink length. This can help to achieve the perfect cup of coffee shop quality every single time you fancy a beverage.
The machine can also store settings in its memory, enabling it to be ready to create the next perfect drink whenever you fancy it. It was super simple to set up, requiring just a descale and run-through of water before you use it. You can purchase any of the compatible pods from supermarkets, and I specifically like the Costa Coffee latte’s as well as the Cadbury’s hot chocolate.
It usually comes with two discs, one for the espresso and one for the milk, if you’re making a latte. With a super fast scan of the barcode on the T-Disc, Intellibrew barcode technology automatically adjusts the brewing time, water and temperature to precision. I simply loaded the disc into the machine, pressed start and the system automatically created the perfect drink.
This is much easier than other coffee machines I’ve tried where you have to adjust settings and froth your own milk. However, this didn’t take away the quality of the coffee as it was absolutely delicious and provided gorgeous froth on the top. I’ve also always been sceptical about brewing a hot chocolate directly after a coffee but the machine’s single-serve system makes every drink taste exactly how it should.
The standby mode is also activated directly after every brewing process, which helps to ensure low energy consumption. In fact, this isn’t the only convenient feature as the machine also has an automatic cleaning and descaling program, a removable cup stand as well as being compact. However, it isn’t as compact as I would have liked which is my only downside of the appliance.
Unlike other machines, the Tassimo appliance came with a Brita Maxtra Plus filter to help reduce the lime content and chlorine in tap water. According to the company, this can help to provide the coffee with a more intense flavour and aroma. The My Way 2 also has a 1.
3L transparent, removable and easy-fill water tank, making it easier to make drinks for the whole family. The coffee machine is available from several retailers and it is currently on special offer at John Lewis, retailing for just £59.99 .
For the quality of the beverage you get from this appliance, it is well worth the money when a cup of coffee could be around £4 out. Ranging from creamy lattes to tasty cappuccinos, Tassimo can make all your coffee shop favourites at home. It’s compatible with 11 well-known brands including Costa, Kenco, L’OR and Cadbury’s.
I definitely found it the easiest to find compatible pods with this machine compared to any others I’ve tried. There are many pod coffee machines on the market including Nespresso’s Vertuo Pop Coffee Machine , Dualit’s Espresso Coffee machine for £99 or Philips L’Or Coffee Machine, currently on offer for £74.99 .
