The visitors to Merley Park got off to a flying start when a Dan Baggs long throw wasn’t dealt with and Jamie Green hit the back of the net with his effort from outside the box, via the far post. Cobham were back on level terms in the 30th minute, as Marco Fowler turned home a cross at the far post, finishing well. But the visitors retook the lead in the final minute of the first half, Baggs bundling man and ball over the line after Cobham failed to clear their lines from a corner.
The sides went into the break level at 2-2, though, as the hosts hit straight back following lovely play between Josh Buck and Callum Perry, seeing the latter cross for Mike Trim to stroke the ball home in added time at the end of the first period. Cobham started the second half well but weren’t able to capitalise and it was Westland who scored their third in the 72nd minute on the counterattack, Harrison Foster striking home into the far corner. Four minutes later it was level again, Cobham’s Charlie Harries heading home from a Fowler cross.
Both sides had opportunities to take the points but the game finished at three apiece and the points were shared..
