President Donald Trump and his cabinet blasted a CNN anchor during a tense Oval showdown as he met with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador.

A CNN news anchor was brutally shut down by President Donald Trump during a tense meeting at the Oval Office. Trump was meeting with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador and ridiculed CNN presenter Kaitlin Collins at the White House when the press was allowed to ask questions. The meeting came after the President confirmed he wants to send American citizens to jail in El Salvador as he and President Bukele said they were not planning to return a man wrongly deported there last month.

Bukele said he had no intention of releasing Garcia, who was living with his wife and child in Maryland. American officials insist that he was designated as a gang member, which he denies. When it came to Kaitlin's turn to speak to the President, Trump made a brutal comment, "Let's not start with CNN because they are just so wrong.

" He added, "Let's hear the question from this very low-rated anchor at CNN." Undeterred, Kaitlin asked a follow-up question, quizzing if Trump would abide by the ruling; but he further mocked her job at the CNN network. Trump added, "Why do you go over and over, that's why no one watches you anymore, you have no credibility.

" He previously said earlier, "Why don't you just say, isn't it wonderful that we're keeping criminals out of our country? Why can't you just say that?" He then continued, "Well, they get out, but the fake news, you know, like CNN over here, doesn't want to put them out because they don't like putting out good numbers, because I think they hate our country, actually." CNN anchor Dana Bash discussed the President's comments during her Monday afternoon show. She said, "CNN does not hate our country; that should go without saying.

" In a feature with Vanity Fair, Collins described her job at CNN as a "joyful warrior." She dismissed Trump's scathing criticism of her work as a "distraction technique." She said, "There are no days off.

You can't have a chill Friday. If you ever think it's going to be chill, it's guaranteed to not be.".
