Maruti Suzuki has led the CNG revolution, making up nearly 70 percent of all CNG car sales. It offers 13 CNG models. In a big change in the Indian car market, compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles have outsold diesel cars for the first time in FY25.
This shift is mainly because of rising fuel prices and the lower running cost of CNG cars. According to government data (Vahan portal), 7.87 lakh CNG passenger vehicles were sold this year, while diesel car sales stood at 7.
