Vice President Kamala Harris has earned the distinction of being the first presidential candidate to have supported legalizing marijuana federally. Yet she seems to think this is a liability rather than the opportunity it really is. In 2019, Harris co-sponsored a bill that would have lifted the federal ban on pot.
But since launching her presidential campaign, she’s been silent on the issue. She said not a word about it in her acceptance speech at the Democratic convention or during the debate with Donald Trump . The policy section on her campaign website is mum on marijuana, too.
Asked to clarify her current position, a campaign spokesperson ducked the question and criticized Trump’s policy instead..

C’mon, Harris. Be the leader on marijuana you were meant to be.
Harris is the real responsible candidate on pot. Not Trump.
