CM Siddaramaiah Pays Tribute to Karnataka Soldiers Martyred in J& K Accident

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid his final respects to the mortal remains of Karnataka soldiers who were martyred in a tragic accident in Jammu and Kashmir. The solemn ceremony took place at the War Memorial in Belagavi, where the Chief Minister offered floral tributes to Subedar Dayanand Tirkannavar and Havildar Mahesh Marigond. Addressing the media, Siddaramaiah highlighted the vital role of soldiers, teachers, and farmers in nation-building.

"The lives of soldiers, who selflessly protect our nation, command the highest respect. It is heart-wrenching that four brave soldiers from Karnataka lost their lives in this tragic accident in Poonch. I extend my prayers for their souls and stand in solidarity with their grieving families," he said.



The Chief Minister assured that the state government would provide necessary assistance to the bereaved families in accordance with existing policies. The four martyred soldiers from Karnataka were identified as, Subedar Dayanand Tirkannavar from Belagavi, Havildar Mahesh Nagappa from Bagalkot, Dhanaraj Subhash from Chikkodi in Belagavi district and Anup Poojary from Kundapur in Udupi district The accident occurred on Tuesday evening in the Pir Panjal Valley of Poonch district, when a military vehicle skidded off the road. The incident claimed the lives of five soldiers and left five others injured.

The sacrifice of these soldiers was honored with full military honors at the ceremony, attended by dignitaries and family members, who mourned their loss while celebrating their valor and dedication to the nation..
