No Fewer than 30 members of Isolo community benefitted from the special skill acquisition training in tie and dye (adire) in line with Economic and Community Development project organised by Rotary Club of Isolo, Lagos. The President, Rotary Club of Isolo, Tokunbo Allison said she was inspired to think out of the box and do something different. “Tie and dye is peculiar to Abeokuta, Ogun State and I felt we should get someone in Lagos to change the status-quo.
“I am happy that the beneficiaries were very enthusiastic of the innovation, and they craved for more exposure of the project which cost N500,000,” she said. Allison disclosed that the club also celebrated the World Polio Day by visiting the Adele of Isolo’s Palace to solicit his assistance for parents to release their children for vaccination, which must continue until polio is totally eradicated in the world. The club also went on bike ride to mark World Polio Day to sensitise the community of polio.
Past Assistant Governor, Raf Abanum gave kudos to the club for both the empowerment project as well as polio vaccination and its awareness prgramme, saying they were in the right direction. The trainer, Okwuchi David Arinzechukwu of Boogi Concept, said the beneficiaries were very receptive..
