Closed waiting room at Vehari railway station irks passengers

Vehari - The only train arriving at Vehari Railway Station has left its passengers frustrated as the waiting room remains closed. Women, children, and elderly passengers are forced to sit in the scorching sun, while several people have reportedly fallen ill. According to passengers, when they tried to enter the waiting room after booking their tickets, they found it locked.

Upon inquiry, they were told that this facility is only available to AC class passengers. The general passengers Mr Faseeh, Kashif Hafeez & Munir Ahmad etc at the station strongly protested against this discriminatory behavior, but the station master ignored their complaints and refused to open the waiting room for them.Due to the intense heat, several women and children fell ill, while elderly passengers also suffered greatly.



Passengers said they were already facing travel difficulties, and being denied the waiting room facility added to their misery.The affected passengers protested against the railway authorities’ behavior and demanded that the waiting room be opened immediately. However, the station master refused to listen, leaving the passengers helpless.

Vehari DC commends officers for outstanding Eid arrangements Passengers have appealed to the Railway Minister and higher authorities to take notice of this injustice at Vehari Railway Station and provide the waiting room facility to all passengers. The public says that the railway station is a public place, and any discriminatory behavior is unacceptable. If the relevant authorities do not take immediate notice of this issue, public protests may intensify.
