Close contest goes against UMD women's basketball

UMD and Winona State were tied with two minutes left but the Warriors got to the free-throw line for their last seven points.

WINONA — Crunch time sided against Minnesota Duluth and in favor of Winona State on Wednesday, as the Warriors pulled out a 57-53 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory. Lexi Karge's driving layup tied the game at 50 with 2:15 to play, but a turnover and a miss on UMD's next two possessions gave WSU an opening to edge in front at the free-throw line. The Warriors made seven consecutive free throws to close it out.
