The Cleveland Cavaliers are eager to build on their surprisingly incredible season with a deep postseason run. While there’s no assurance that they’ll finish the postseason with an NBA Finals appearance, it’s also clear that the team will look to run it back with their current core next season. It seemed that the team might stumble out of the top seed after a four-game losing skid in March .
However, they secured their spot at the top of the Eastern Conference after convincing wins against strong squads around the league. Their most recent game—a narrow win against the San Antonio Spurs —had their star man talking about the importance of a strong team mentality as they prepare for postseason basketball. ” It’s reasonable for Mitchell to expect his teammates to expect high out of his teammates. The Cavs wouldn’t have a 62-15 record if they hadn’t been playing fantastic basketball all season. The Cavs cannot afford to drop games in the postseason, and setting that standard in the regular season will help them have a great playoffs.
Mitchell has been doing a lot of heavy lifting for the Cavs, averaging 24 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.
