Some public-school students will not have the day after Thanksgiving off this year as the Guam Department of Education needs to make up instructional days to comply with the 180-instructional-day mandate. The makeup day is scheduled for Nov. 29 and will be used by 20 GDOE schools lacking instructional days as a result of school closures, GDOE announced in a press release.
“The decision to hold classes on this day reflects the department's proactive approach to addressing any potential disruptions to the academic calendar, such as those caused by inclement weather or other unforeseen events. By planning, the Guam Department of Education demonstrates its dedication to providing a consistent and quality education for all students,” GDOE said in the release. Parents are reminded that Nov.
