City seeks input on proposed bridge repair work across Lincoln

Residents have until Dec. 10 to offer input on maintenance and repair work proposed on several bridges in Lincoln.

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities wants to know what residents think about proposed bridge maintenance and repairs on six bridges planned for 2027. Proposed bridge work, part of the Lincoln Area Bridges Preventative Maintenance Project, includes deck patching and overlays, joint replacement, approach slab repairs, rail repairs and sidewalk repairs. The $4.

7 million project will be paid for with federal funds. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027 and be completed by winter 2027. Public comment will be accepted through Dec.

Full closures will be required to accommodate work on the Penny Bridges and for work on other bridge locations as necessary.
