City school to host grand finale of national school essay contest

Vadodara: City-based Navrachana International School will host the grand finale of the ‘11th Nanhi Chhaan National School Essay Contest 2024 ' on Nov 13. The national-level school essay contest is an initiative of Nanhi Chhaan Foundation to promote lateral thinking at the grassroots level by creating awareness of social issues and concerns. The semi-finals of the contest will be held on Nov 11, when the shortlisted finalists will write an essay on a topic that will be shared on the spot.

On Nov 13, a panel discussion will be conducted with the finalists, and based on the overall assessment by jury members, the winners will be announced. The topic for this year's contest was ‘Greed overtakes need - Is a reset necessary' and saw participation from 30,000 students representing 200 schools from across the country. Two essays from each school were selected after independent assessment, and shortlisted essays were then assessed by professors of Delhi University and Ashoka University.



The finale will be graced by Ashok Khosla, chairman, Development Alternatives; Harpal Singh, chairman, Nanhi Chhaan Foundation; Tejal Amin, executive chairperson, Navrachana Educational Society; Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, social worker; Dr Divyabhanusinh Chavda, Indian historian, author and conservationist; and Gulam A Vahavaty, philanthropist..
