City of London residents will see changes to their bin collections over the upcoming Easter weekend. This year Good Friday and Easter Monday fall on April 18 and 21. The City of London Corporation , the Square Mile's governing body, does not pick up waste or recycling on bank holidays, meaning there will be some disruption.
No household collection services will take place on either Good Friday or Easter Monday. For those who do not have a bin store and normally put waste or recycling bags out, the Corporation asks that they are kept inside until your next collection day. For those who normally have waste collected on a Friday, theirs will be picked up on Saturday (April 19) between 6pm and 8pm.
For those who normally have bins collected on a Monday, theirs will be emptied on Tuesday (April 22) between 6pm and 8pm. If you live on an estate and typically have your recycling and food waste collected from your doorstep, either use the appropriate bins in your communal bin store or wait until the service is running again. Normal service will resume on Tuesday, April 22, with the next bank holiday penned in for May 5.
