City crews prepare for upcoming winter weather

With winter weather alerts and warnings making their way across screens, City of St. Joseph road crews are out and about making sure roads are safe.

With winter weather alerts and warnings making their way across screens, City of St. Joseph road crews are out and about making sure roads are safe. With a saltwater brine and beet juice mix, the liquid is enough to clear the roads for a dusting of snow.

However, when more than two to three inches of snow starts to accumulate, the plows come out. Jackson Jones, the City of St. Joseph's superintendent of streets and infrastructure explained what drivers should look out for as winter weather conditions are expected.



Jones cautioned drivers to avoid unnecessary travel and to be aware of city trucks. "Give our plows plenty of space and be patient with them," said Jones. Additionally, the City of St.
