Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen doesn't know where he'll be playing his football next season, indicating he's heard nothing from the club. Eriksen is one of six United players out of contract at the end of the current season. Amad, Harry Maguire , Victor Lindelof, Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans are the others, though the club have an option to trigger one-year extensions for Amad and Maguire.

The Denmark international joined United in the summer of 2022 , in the same window as former manager Erik ten Hag . Ex-Ajax boss Ten Hag has since been sacked by the club , though, with Ruben Amorim taking over as head coach . Amorim is not expected to have the final say on any of those six out-of-contract players, though he will have the chance to let the higher-ups know where he stands on them.

For now, though, Eriksen appears to be playing a waiting game. "I haven't focused on it yet, and I haven't heard anything from the club," Eriksen said ahead of Denmark's UEFA Nations League match against Spain (via Tipsbladet). "Right now it's just about football, and then we have to see where we stand in January and for that matter in the summer.

"As a footballer, you just turn up and train, and then it is the coach who decides the team at the weekend. I have not set my hopes or expectations. It belongs to football.

" Eriksen has already played more than half as many club minutes this season as he did in 2023-24, though that could change under the new boss. "It has been lovely," the 32-year-old said of his game time. "As a footballer, you want to play as much as possible and be decisive.

It's great to feel that I've really been able to take part." Should Manchester United hand Christian Eriksen a new deal? Have your say in the comments section United's new boss Amorim arrives off the back of a league title with Sporting Lisbon and a perfect start to the 2024-25 Primeira Liga season. While Eriksen will want to impress the Portuguese and add to his four goals and three assists this term, club captain Bruno Fernandes is looking at bigger changes from the new man in the dugout.

“I hope he does the same here [as in Lisbon] because, you know, sometimes a person can change the energy of a space, if it's the right moment," Fernandes said . “We hope that he can come and that this is the right moment for him to come and bring his energy, bring his qualities and his knowledge of football, because he's done something really, really special at Sporting. “If someone doubts that, it's about just looking at the past.

Sporting was about 20 years without winning the league and he got them back to winning the league. “He won it two times in four years with a really youthful team, in a moment of change. So hopefully he can do the same here for us and hopefully it's going to be a successful time for all of us.
