Sir Chris Hoy's wife was diagnosed with an incurable condition just months after the sportsman was told he has terminal cancer. The Olympic gold medalist has been told he has between two and four years to live. Medics said he had stage 4 cancer after complaining about pain in his shoulder, which he initially thought was a gym injury.
They found tumours in his shoulder, pelvis, hip, spine and rib. But just months after discovering he had cancer, his family was also devastated by further health news. His wife Lady Sarra was later diagnosed with an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis.

It could be a lot worse"." The parents did not tell their children about Lady Sarra's diagnosis straight away. But with his book going public, they are now preparing for some difficult conversations.
