Chris Billam-Smith’s Possible WBC Title Shot WBC President Highlights Future Opportunities WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has revealed that despite Billam-Smith’s defeat, the Bournemouth FC fan could return to world title action soon. The current WBC champion, Noel Mikaelian is currently going through legal issues with promoter Don King, which has led to the cancellation of his planned defence against Ryan Rozicki.
Due to these constant cancellations, the governing body have ordered Rozicki vs. the number two contender Yamil Peralta for the interim world title . According to Sulaiman, Billam-Smith could be given a title shot: “I’m sure he will be highly ranked by the WBC.
” He continued: “We’ll certainly rank him and he has the possibility of fighting for a title.” WBC Cruiserweight Title Confusion Explaining the WBC title picture, Sulaiman said: “The cruiserweight status right now is confusing, Mikaelian has legal procedures against his promoter Don King. That is why we had to support Rozicki.
” He continued: “They had a signed contract to fight December 7. It’s all a mess. [Billam-Smith] could go straight to fight the winner.
There are so many moving pieces that are not known.” Next on the table for Ramirez looks set to be a unification bout against Jai Opetaia, which he spoke to Chris Mannix in the ring about, immediately after the fight: “Yeah, of course, I want to unify with all the champions and that’s the main goal for me,” Ramirez said when Opetaia’s name was brought up. “And I think for all the champions, too,” said Ramirez.
