Choosing between male and female sterilisation

Dear Dr. G, As the theme of this month revolves around contraception, I find myself compelled to ask for your guidance regarding sterilisation. My wife and I are both in our late thirties with two wonderful children, and we are contemplating the finality of completing our family but can't decide who should undergo sterilisation.
