Excelsior Sports CorrespondentJAMMU, Mar 8: The duo of Chirag Dogra and Amar Jyoti Sharma clinched the UT Men’s Doubles Lawn Tennis title at the Jammu and Kashmir UT Lawn Tennis Open Championship, defeating Deepak Chib and Col S Pradeep in a thrilling final. The match, held at Maulana Azad Stadium, ended with a score of 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-4.In the semi-finals, Chirag Dogra and Amar Sharma triumphed over Sojanya Thappa and Kuljeet Singh with an 8-4 win, while Deepak Chib and Col S Pradeep narrowly beat Vikram Gupta and Raghav Sabharwal 8-6.
In the Men’s Singles final, Vikram Gupta secured the title by defeating Shaurya Pratap Singh 6-3, 6-2. Earlier, Gupta had edged past Chirag Dogra 8-7 (7-5) in a tough tie-break, while Shaurya Pratap Singh overcame Gurleen Singh 8-2 in his semifinal.Jammu and Kashmir Sports Minister Satish Sharma, who was present as the chief guest, praised the event and expressed the government’s strong commitment to making the region a sports hub.
