Shocking footage appears to show the moment a flight collided with a Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River near Reagan Washington International Airport in Washington, D.C., delaying air travel in the nation’s capital on Wednesday night.

The footage was recorded by a webcam positioned at the Kennedy Center , and later obtained by local news . The fiery crash, which took place just after 9:00 p.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the crash involved a regional jet and a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter, and American Airlines later confirmed that the jet was one of their American Eagle regional flights from Wichita, Kansas.
