According to the National Weather Service, a high near 59 is expected, accompanied by increasing clouds and breezy south-southwest winds escalating from 10 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 40 mph.Tonight, the Windy City may experience rain showers before turning to a mix of rain and snow showers, settling on a chance of snow showers after 4am.
"A chance of rain showers before 3am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 3am and 4am, then a chance of snow showers after 4am," as stated by the NWS forecast, with an anticipated low around 32 and breezy conditions that persist as winds shift to the north post-midnight.Weekend weather offers a brief moment of respite with some sunshine on Saturday and highs in the mid 40s, though it's noted that this is somewhat cooler than the norm. However, FOX 32 Chicago reports an increase in clouds by Saturday night, and "much of Sunday will have showers in the area, but at least temperatures will rise into the low 50s.
"Looking ahead, the temperatures for the most of next week are projected to be slightly below average without the threat of significant storm systems on the horizon. March has been particularly windy this year, with FOX 32 Chicago citing, "Fourteen of the 20 days so far have had winds with 30+ mph peak gusts and 5 days have had peak gusts of 40+ mph at O`Hare."
