Chennai, September 19, 2024: Residents of Chennai woke up to a pleasant surprise today as various parts of the city received good rainfall, bringing relief from the scorching heat. The rain, which started around 3 a.m.



, continued for 5-6 hours, with some areas experiencing heavy downpour even after 6 a.m. Guindy, Valluvar Kottam, Mylapore, Velachery, Tambaram, Alandur, and Sholinganallur were among the areas that received rainfall.

Northeast Monsoon improvement works and flood prevention measures have also reached the final stage. According to weather forecasts, isolated rains are likely around Chennai and adjoining North TN today. Tomorrow, the probability of thunderstorms is expected to increase, with more places likely to be affected.
