
Cheltenham is underway today (Picture: Michael Steele/Getty Images)The Cheltenham Festival 2025 is underway this afternoon with a stacked first day of action in store on Champion Day.Seven races will take place starting with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, renamed in the memory of the late Michael O’Sullivan.The talented young rider tragically died aged 24 in February as a result of injuries suffered in a fall at Thurles racecourse.
O’Sullivan won the same race aboard Marine Nationale in 2023 and it will mark a sombre moment on opening race day in tribute to the Irishman.Six other races will follow across the afternoon.Here is your full guide to day one at Cheltenham Festival with the race card, latest odds and betting tips.
