Dan Gilkes, who stood in as a guest while Jordan Jenkins was ruled out with a thumb injury at the back end of the 2024 season, returns to Cheetahs on a permanent basis, and is joined by Jonas Knudsen and Mitchell McDiarmid. The trio complete the Cheetahs line-up for next year’s Championship campaign, with the aforementioned Jenkins, Cameron Heeps, Luke Killeen and Sam Masters all previously announced. “He has done a brilliant job for us in the past, and I don’t think we have seen the best of him yet.” Gilkes himself said: “I was blown away by how the club is run when I guested last year. “Everyone just gets stuck in and is available to help if you need anything.
“The fans at Oxford are fantastic. I have always been so warmly received when riding for or against Oxford and I honestly can’t wait.” On the additions of Knudsen and McDiarmid, Schroeck said: “Jonas is another young up and coming rider who has shown great form at times, and at just 16 years old, Mitch is a young man very much in demand.
“I am sure he will settle in really quickly with Sam, Cameron and Luke to support him.”.
