The NRL player and the Matildas soccer player have been going strong since last year, and To'o has joked about the Aussie golden couple taking their relationship to the next level on several occasions. While being interviewed after the Panthers 18-12 victory over the Titans, the prolific try-scorer was at it again.

To'o was questioned by Fox Sports about why Panthers fans were cheering so loud. Cleary, who has been recovering from an injury, was in attendance and host Yvonne Sampson wondered if the superstar halfback had set the crowd off. To'o joked that fans were cheering for Cleary and girlfriend Fowler, who are now 'engaged'.

'Nathan? Yeah, he's over here with Mary,' To'o quipped. 'They are just chilling on the side everyone is going crazy. They are pretty much here for Nathan and Mary so congrats to them, I think they got engaged.

'Congrats to them.' Brian To'o made a cheeky remark to media about teammate Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler's romance on Saturday The NRL player and the Matildas soccer player have been going strong since last year Fowler was back in Australia last month after the Matildas' disappointing Paris Olympics campaign, where the Aussies failed to reach the knockout rounds despite a brave performance against the United States in their final group state match. Mary and Nathan began dating towards the end of last year, with their relationship being first reported by Daily Mail Australia .

Locked into second place, the Panthers should have Nathan Cleary back from his shoulder injury to face the Sydney Roosters in their qualifying final at Penrith Park, likely to be played on Friday night. '(Cleary) has got a few hoops to jump through, but we're hopeful,' said coach Ivan Cleary. Cleary has been sidelined with an injury but should be back for the Roosters match But Penrith cannot rely on the star halfback alone to iron out the creases that have been evident throughout his absence, the side once again appearing worn-out and error-prone on Saturday night.

Penrith were never comfortable against the 14th-placed Titans, making 15 errors and trailing 6-4 at halftime on the back of a surprisingly strong first half from the visitors. But it would be a brave pundit to write off the triple reigning premiers, especially now they are locked in to host the Roosters, who haven't beaten Penrith since 2019. Coach Cleary is remaining calm despite a shaky finish to the regular season.

'It didn't look like we wanted it to look like, but the main thing was to win the game and that's what we did,' he said. 'I honestly feel like our defence has improved in the month or so. What we didn't have tonight was our attack to complement it.

If we can get both together, we're going to be hard to beat.' NRL Penrith Panthers Mary Fowler Nathan Cleary Share or comment on this article: Cheeky Panthers star drops bombshell about teammate Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler: 'They got engaged' e-mail Add comment.
