Filipinos may now enjoy LongHorn Steakhouse’s legendary steaks as The Bistro Group brought in LongHorn’s first-ever restaurant in the country. Opened for casual diners on April 11 at the Streetscape Level 1, Edsa Shangri-la Plaza Mall, LongHorn showcased its wide variety of dishes to choose from. Their culinary expertise extends beyond steaks with a menu that also features fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs, parmesan crusted chicken, Bourbon-marinated grilled salmon, and hand-breaded chicken tenders. There are also a variety of fresh and delicious salads, shareable appetizers, signature sides and luscious desserts.

menu and which ones were created for the Philippine market, Brad Smith, president of Darden International and Franchising, said “It’s pretty much all from the U.S., but there are a few extra side-dishes added.

Especially rice, you gotta have rice; carrots and corn, though we have corn in a different fashion in the U.S., we only serve it on the cob.

And we only serve it seasonly. And the rest of the menu are same as it is as the U.S.

, It’s very close. As time goes by we sort of get a feel of what the guests want, we’ll figure it out. We talk about our brands have to be brand specific but country relevant.

In line with the restaurant’s concept, the Wild West Shrimp, is the starter that’s greatly recommended, along with their Seasoned Steakhouse Wings.

Baked, the fried, and finished with their signature Char Seasoning, their wings are crisp, juicy and full of flavor. Other starters like the Parmesan Crusted Spinach Dip and White Cheddar stuffed Mushrooms are also the ones to try.The LongHorn Salmon Beyond SteakA variety of entrees are sure to be a big hit for the Pinoy palette, such as international favorites LongHorn Salmon, the hand-cut, Atlantic salmon soaked in their housemate bourbon marinade; Redrock Grilled Shrimp, glazed with smoky tomato butter.

A sure favorite for burger lovers, The LH Burger, the half-pound burger is the only entree burger on the menu showing how special it is. Starting with the famous Chocolate Stampede, a cake composed of six kinds of chocolate served with vanilla ice cream. Their versions of the molten lava cake, cheesecake, and strawberries and cream shortcake are sure hits for Filipinos.
